12 Best Yeti Cups and Mugs For Coffee

I am both a coffee lover and a Yeti lover and for years Yeti only had 3 sizes of tumblers, none of which worked great for me and my coffee needs.

However, recently Yeti has massively expanded their range of tumblers and bottles and there are a variety of good options out there for coffee.

So much so that I recently found myself buying a new Yeti tumbler specifically for my morning coffee even though I already own multiple Yeti tumblers and bottles. Call me crazy but but the $20 I dropped feels like money extremely well spent.

So what is the best Yeti cup for coffee and which one should you get?

The Yeti 10 oz tumbler is the best Yeti for smaller coffees. It's thin enough to fit in any cup holder and comes with the MagSlider lid. The Yeti 12 oz bottle with hotshot cap is the best leakproof Yeti for coffee and the 20 oz Travel Mug with handle and leak proof lid is the best for the long commute coffee drinkers.

I'm a Coffee Lover and a Yeti Lover

Just so you're aware who's giving this advice I'm a complete coffee snob. I've worked in an espresso bar and when I make coffee at home I hand grind my beans and use a lever machine to make my daily brew.

I spend a lot of time making coffee, drinking coffee and thinking about coffee. I also write gear reviews for a living and own A LOT of Yeti gear so I'm probably more qualified than most people to be answering this question.

Your Coffee Size Will Have a Huge Impact on The Best Yeti For Your Coffee

Most people have a preferred coffee size that they tend to stick to. Maybe that's a small, maybe that's a large. You might deviate from that from time to time but most of us are creatures of habit.

Melbourne, and Australia in general, is considered one of the coffee Meccas of the world. Specialty coffee shops and roasteries can be found on almost every corner and there is a huge coffee culture here.

Here a “standard” or “small” cup of coffee is 8 oz and a “large” is 12 oz. You can get a piccolo latte which is 4 oz and some coffee shops have a 6 oz small. But you'll rarely if ever see anything about 12 oz.

My personal coffee of choice is a small double shot almond latte, which is 8 oz and given Yeti don't sell 8 oz cups I'm stuck choosing between either a 10 oz or 12 oz cup/bottle. There aren't any options for a 4 oz piccolo or espresso sadly.

But in the US sizes vary from 8oz all the way up to 16, 24 and even 31 oz!

I say all this to say…while I recommend the best Yeti cups for coffee below in my order of preference ultimately you'll need to decide for yourself based on what size coffee you tended to drink.

Best Yeti For Small/Standard Coffee (8-10 oz)

This is my coffee size so this is where I have the most expertise. It was actually the new Yeti 10 oz tumbler that made me buy a new Yeti cup even though I already have so many.

It was 100% worth it and I absolutely love my new Yeti coffee cup!

The best Yeti for a small 8-10 oz coffee is the Yeti 10 oz Rambler Tumbler. It's thin enough to fit into a cup holder and the splash proof MagSlider lid helps stop coffee spilling as you walk. The Yeti 10 oz Wine Tumbler and Yeti 10 oz Lowball are ok for coffee but won't fit in a cup holder.

1. Yeti Rambler 10 oz Tumbler

The Yeti 10 oz tumbler is hands down the best Yeti cup for small coffees. As a small coffee drinker I have tried all versions of the smaller Yeti cups and this one is in a league of its own.

It's vacuum insulated so it keeps your coffee hot for hours but the design in thinner than any other Yeti cup on the market, meaning it is easy to hold in your hand but more importantly it fits in any cup holder easily.

Even the small cup holders in my cooler (which I use in my camper van) that fail to fit most cups and mugs fit this Yeti.

It's dishwasher safe, comes with the MagSlider lid which allows me to carry my coffee without worrying about it spilling and comes in lots of different colors. I chose the Navy Blue as I liked the masculine design but I also love the black, the white and the sea foam green.

The only downside to this cup is that the small opening at the top makes good latte art difficult and like all Yeti tumblers it's not completely leak proof.

But otherwise this, in my humble opinion, is THE BEST Yeti cup for coffee.

2. Yeti 10 oz Stackable Mug

If you prefer a mug to a tumbler and like to have a handle on your coffee cup then the yeti 10 ounce stackable mug is the best option for your small coffee.

This mug is wider than the 10 oz tumbler mentioned above which means it doesn't fit into a car cup holder. But the wider opening can make for more enjoyable drinking and also better latte art.

If you're planning on having your coffee at home, or around the campsite, and don't need to take ti driving with you then this is a great option.

I also like that they stack together for easier storage on shelves or in boxes.

The stackable mugs comes with a “standard lid” which means there is no MagSlider and there is a permanent open hole in the lid. The lid is still splash proof and this isn't a big deal.

You can buy a separate MagSlider lid for this mug if you want to spend the extra money.

3. Yeti Wine Tumbler 10 oz

Back when I worked in an espresso bar a few people used to come in and had Yeti insulated wine tumblers that they used for their coffees.

It's an attractive cup, a good size and it's nice to hold. It's great for both wine and coffee and comes in a variety of colors.

One of the downsides of this cup over other smaller cups is that it doesn't come with a lit at all. You can purchase a MagSlider lid that fits it but that'll cost you an extra $10 and the MagSlider lid comes free with the 10 oz Tumbler mentioned above.

4. Yeti Lowball 10 oz

This was the very first Yeti cup I used for coffee years ago when Yeti only had 3 sizes of tumblers.

The Lowball has been great for my morning coffee and I like that the wide mouth makes latte art easy and makes drinking easy as your nose doesn't get in the way.

More often than not I'll make coffee in my Lowball and use it without the lid. To be completely honest I often misplace the lid and go months when I don't even know where it is. But the cup still works great for at home.

It's much too wide to fit in a cup holder so I can't really take it on the road with me and it comes with a standard lid not a MagSlider lid.

Best Yeti For Large Coffee (12 oz)

My partner like her coffee larger than me. She always gets a large almond latte which comes in a 12 oz cup and she always wants more milk in her coffee than I have in mine.

If you're like her and you prefer your coffee a bit bigger then Yeti has a variety of options that suit a large sized coffee.

1. Yeti 12 oz Bottle with Hotshot Cap

If you like my partner and you like your coffee a bit larger then the 12 oz Yeti bottle with HotShot cap is specifically designed for coffee.

It's perfectly sizes for a large coffee at a coffee shop and the lid is 100% leak proof so you can throw your coffee in your bag without having to worry.

The HotShot Lid is easy to use. Do a partial turn to open it and you can drink from anywhere on the lid.

The HotShot lid is also compatible with other Yeti bottles so if you like coffee even larger than 12 oz you could get a different Yeti bottle and replace the lid it comes with with the HotShot Lid.

2. Yeti 14 oz Mug

For those who prefer their large coffee in a mug instead of a taller cup or a bottle then the Yeti 14 oz Mug is a great sized everyday coffee mug.

It's got a wide opening which is great for latte art and makes for easy drinking. The wide opening also allows you to smell all the aromas of the coffee.

It comes with a standard lid and it's vacuum insulated to keep your coffee hot for hours.

The cups are stackable, just like the 10 oz mug making them easy to store and a great camping companion.

Best Yeti For Grande Coffee (16 oz+)

If you like your coffee extra large or are making something like instant coffee with a mug larger volume of water/liquid then you might want something bigger than just your standard 12 oz size.

1. Yeti 20 oz Travel Mug with StrongHold Lid – LEAK PROOF!

I wish they had more sizes of these Yeti Travel Mugs as I would personally rate them as the #1 best Yeti cup for coffee in every single size. But at the moment they only come in a 20 oz size.

What makes them so good you ask?

Well the biggest thing that makes them the best Yeti for coffee is that they are completely leak proof.

The lid screws on (as opposed to just pressing on like other Yeti lids) which means it won't fall off and the slider has a rubber gasket making the lid completely leak proof when it's closed.

It also screws on so the sipping hole can be on either side, allowing the handle to work for both left and right handed drinkers.

Currently it's the only leak proof Yeti cup but hopefully Yeti will release more sizes in the future.

This cup feels like it has everything. It's got the best leak proof lid Yeti offers, it's got a handle, it's tapered at the bottom so it fits into most car cup holders, the handle is high enough that it won't stop it fitting into most car cup holders.

It's completely dishwasher proof, comes in lots of different colors and overall is just a great travel mug for coffee. It's more expensive than the other 20 oz options but only by about $5 and, in my opinion, it's worth the extra cost.

2. Yeti 30 oz Tumbler

The 30 oz is the biggest cup that Yeti has to offer. So if you want a Yeti cup that can hold a large volume of coffee or a cup that works for coffee in the morning and lots of water throughout the day then the 30 oz tumbler might be the best one for you.

I have owned a 30 oz Yeti tumbler for over 5 years now and it's still going strong.

Seriously though, people complain about the price and yeh Yeti stuff is expensive. But 5 years of solid use and it still works just as good as it did the day I bought it?! For me that's value for money.

The 30 oz comes with a MagSlider lid and it's tapered at the bottom so still fits into most car cup holders.

3. Yeti 24 oz Mug

I'm in 2 minds about this Yeti 24 oz Mug, but only because the Yeti Travel Mug is such a similar size and superior in multiple ways.

The Yeti Mug has a wide base and low handle, which means it's unlikely to get knocked over but it won't fit in a car cup holder.

It comes with a standard lid, not a leak proof lid or even a MagSlider.

But I guess it is the largest Yeti cup for coffee that has a handle and it honestly is still a great mug and great for keeping coffee hot for hours at a time.

If you love it then go ahead and get it and it will serve you well. I just personally prefer other Yeti options.

4. Yeti 20 oz Tumbler

Again I think the Yeti 20 oz tumbler falls into that category where the 20 oz Travel Mug does everything the Yeti 20 oz tumbler does but does it a bit better.

This is one of the original sized tumblers Yeti released and it's a great tumbler and will keep coffee hot for hours at a time.

I guess if you're looking for something around this size but without handles then this is the best option for you.

5. Yeti 16 oz Stackable Pint

The Yeti 16 oz Stackable Pint is the perfect size for a Grande 16 oz coffee and I like that they are stackable so if you're camping or traveling they take up less space.

It's important to note that these stackable cups DO NOT come with any lids. No standard lid, no MagSlider lid, nothing. So this means they aren't splash proof at all unless you're going to spend the extra money to buy a lid (which you can do).

Actually, it's around $10 cheaper than the Yeti 20 oz tumbler which comes with a lid. MagSlider lids are only $10 so the combination puts it at the same price as the 20 oz tumbler.

6. Rambler 26 oz Stackable Cup

The 26 oz stackable cup is the 2nd largest cup that Yeti sells. Like the 16 oz stackable cup mentioned above this cup is stackable but doesn't come with a lid.

You can however buy a MagSlider lid for it and it still works out to the same price as the 30 oz tumbler. So if you perfect this shape then that can be a good option
