My wife ordered this and when we first received it I wasn’t a big fan, the weight, the amount of plastic. I was ready to send it back but, we had a trip planned that weekend so, we decided to use it. I was impressed with its ability to maintain ice. We use it primarily as a drink cooler because unlike our AO backpack, you can put beer bottles in the Otter. I’ve used it myself for weekend trips with the boys and it held up really well.There is the latch issue (it finally completely broke off about 6 months after owning it. With that said I didn’t think it would make the first trip with two small kids but it held up and honestly I don’t miss it, the top seals really well by just closing it firmly (a note to the manufacturer a little Velcro would solve this if you haven’t changed it already).2 years in its still going and still as cold as ever. The attached photos are current. All zipper still work, I’ve tossed the plastic gadgets that were attached to it and sill don’t know why it has those loops on the rear of the bag. I love that the handles come off and it slides between my front and rear seats in the truck.Our cooler had made regular trips to the desert, Baja, Mammoth and always come home in good shape. When you’re done with it, the outside shell is fully washable and it’s super easy to clean.The only downsides have been the handle and the Rhino lining they put on the bottom is giving up but, that is not affecting the coolers ability to function at all.
